Social Internet Marketing Tips

I always love meeting people who are interested in internet marketing or network marketing home based businesses. I’m having a blast with a new business building tool that I found on the internet recently, so I wanted to share it immediately.

This is one of those Social Network groups similar to My Space or Ryze or Friendster, or like some of the match-making groups for dating. Except…. this one connects

• people to mentors
• people to potential customers, or
• people to other people with similar talents, skills and desires.

It’s brand new and it’s called Path Connect.

If you've ever been involved in a network marketing company, MLM, or some other kind of home based business like I have, we are always looking for ways to find potential customers or business partners. I don’t know about you, but many of those ventures fizzled out for me and I spent more money than I made. Plus, I hated making lists of friends and relatives, dragging them to hotel meetings, or trying to get them on a 3-way call with some high-pressured upline person.

What I liked was the idea that I could get out of the rut I was in – that there was hope for a better lifestyle and the possibility of having money for retirement. So, I haven’t given up totally. I still believe in myself and my dreams! And with the right tools and training, I sincerely know that I can and WILL have a successful home based business through internet marketing, not trying to sell to my “warm market.”


Social Networks Gain Popularity
Did you know… Social networks are becoming one of the hottest ways on the internet to grow your business and gain popularity on the internet. You fill out a profile in order to connect with like-minded people and build internet relationships. As we know, business success starts with first building relationships. As you build relationships, these networks become a perfect and natural lead-generating machine for your business. More importantly, Path Connect keeps you on track to experience success with your internet marketing business.

I don’t know about you, but in the past I haven’t been very good at reaching the intentions or goals I’ve set for myself. In fact, I’m not even very good about setting goals most of the time. I know what I want to change about my life, but I haven’t consistently followed a plan to get myself there. When I thought I had a good plan, it fizzled… or I gave up by believing all the negative input around me. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, here’s what I like about this social network.… Their whole purpose is to get you thinking about your life, to help you get clear on your vision, your intentions (goals) and then write them out in your “Path Connect profile.” Now, don’t get nervous… You can decide who sees the goals. You can keep most of what you write as “Private,” if you choose.

Or… You can decide to make your intentions “public” for the world to see, so others who have similar interests, goals, visions, and desires will communicate back and forth with you. You will find others who are like-minded. You can find someone to mentor you and help you to reach your goals. It is really very interesting!

In fact, listen to this… The very first week, after I took some time to fill in the blanks of my profile on the Path Connect internet site, things started changing for me. WOW… that felt very magical and almost eerie. I guess it IS true that “What you think about, write down, or say to others… is what you create in your own world.” Guess I better be careful of what I’m thinking and saying, huh?

Internet Marketing as a Business

Many network marketers are now turning to the Internet to build their home based business. Why? People have not seen the success in MLM like they were promised. They know that there must be a way to make money online.

Today, I'd like to post a story that I wrote some time ago.

Have you ever noticed when you mention "network marketing" or "MLM," how someone's eyes glaze over, or they get a frown on their face, or they just plain laugh at you? Been there? Done that?

Or, when someone asks you what you do... you mumble or think up a sophisticated job title so no one knows that it is really NETWORK MARKETING?

Well, we are committed to change how the world thinks about this "so-called" industry. Actually, if you really look at it... we are not a business, we are not an industry. We are simply "word-of-mouth" distribution reps for companies and manufacturers who run the business for us. We don't have all the typical business expenses of a business. We don't deal with payroll, or packaging, or management issues.

So.... don't you think that it's about time that we have fun as Distribution Reps? We'll show you how.

Would you like to know why most people who get into network marketing or MLM are not successful? There are three main reasons....

1 - Mis-Classification of Job Skills

For goodness sakes... I do believe that some of these networkers (heavy-hitters) lost their common sense marbles when they saw the dollar signs!! It doesn't take a genius to figure out that every person on this planet has specific skills and abilities that they excel at. Everyone is DIFFERENT! Thank GOD for that!

You don't hire a landscaper to be a dentist, or a race car driver to do delicate brain surgery. Then, why do the leaders in network marketing keep telling us to duplicate what they do, or just follow the 4-Steps to Success. That's like asking someone who has never had children to write a book on child rearing.

The truth is... when you develop relationships first, you learn what others are good at. Maybe they have a skill that you do not. Then... share tasks, delegate and utilize each other's talents. Pretty simple!

2 - Personality Style Recognition

Another important aspect to success in any business, especially in network marketing, is to determine the type of personality that you are working with. There are 4 basic personality types - Red, Green, Yellow & Blue. When you learn these, you can literally meet a new person... ask 5 questions... and know how to finish your conversation.

You are not going to ask the shy, analytical person (Green Person) to stand in front of a room of 100 people to give a "rah-rah" meeting (Red Person). Nor would you ask the person with a happy-go-lucky, devil-may-care, let's-go-party attitude (Yellow Person) to give a serious, loving, heart-felt motivational session (Blue Person.) Does this make any sense? To learn more about this, attend one of our classes. You will become a Master at redirecting your conversations with people - everyone will love you!

3 - Real Fears & Barriers

I have a very good friend, successful in network marketing, who is definitely a red personality. His answer to all people was, JUST GO DO IT! He meant well, and it was seriously that simple for HIM. Easier said than done though! Why? Here's a story to explain it.

One of my clients seemed to be very jolly, very upbeat and it appeared that he would be dynamite at selling and talking to people on the phone. He did very well with people face-to-face, telling stories, joking and laughing. When it came to picking up the phone to call prospects, he froze - voice and all. Why?

Come to find out, there were some deeply buried fears that he didn't realize were stopping him. As a teenager, while on an important phone call, he said something embarrassing, and was then made fun of by his parents and siblings. From that day forward, he carried a belief in his subconscious that "when you get on the phone, you will say something stupid!"

All the coaching and encouragement in the world by a red-type personality is not going to change that belief.... It actually only makes it worse - and adds to the list of failures. Our minds are so incredibly powerful - they will make us believe anything. However, through a special process...

you can override those lame messages coming from your subconscious.

Another good friend once said to me, "you don't know, what you don't know." After thinking about that for a day or so, I understood exactly what he meant. If we don't know what is stopping us from success, it's hard to do anything about it - and it will only get worse by repeating postive affirmations that You Can DO IT!

After going through this process myself, I recognized my newborn talent (which also was buried.) When talking to others about the barriers, blocks, obstacles and fears in their life.... most of the time, I could "see" what it was that was stopping them. That block can then be transmuted.
